We’ve just wrapped up a new stage set for Perimeter Church’s Young Families Retreat, so here’s a look at the final design, and the process we used to get there! This project was a blast to build even if a bit rushed (due to a very tight schedule before the event and a week of nothing but rain forecast ahead gave us exactly one weekend to build the entire thing!)
We usually build sets such as these out of 1×12 #2 Pine that we rip down to the size we require, but the time constraints, unfortunately, did not give us that option, so we opted for tongue and groove 1×5 boards from Big Orange (their 1×6 Pine was $12 per 12 foot board!!) because of it’s very affordable price tag and the ease with which we’d be able to mount it to the frames.
All in all, it was a great build, and we can’t wait to see it in place at the event!
